The following thematic itineraries are aimed at having you discover Urbino and the surrounding Montefeltro territory while being accompanied by a professional guide specialised in this particular area and are suggested as half day, full day or longer trips.
Each proposal is purely indicative and can be customised according to the wishes and necessities of the individual client.

Urbino: the ideal city, yesterday and today

Itinerary n° 1 Urbino during the Renaissance and the triumph of the Montefeltro family:
Discovering the Ducal Palace*, its cellars and servants quarters and a visit to the
National Gallery of the Marche. (approx. 2 to 3 hours)

Itinerary n° 2 Urbino from its origins to the birth of Raphael:
The urban, architectural and cultural evolution of the historic city.
Walking tour of the historic centre including visits to the
Oratory of St. John the Baptist*, Raphael's birth house*,
the churches of St. Francis and St. Dominic the Oratory of St. Gaetano,
exterior viewing of Francesco di Giorgio Martini's cloistered convent of St. Claire
and of the Church of St. Bernardino, concluding with the panorama of the city
from the Albornoz Fortress. (2,5 - 3 hours)

Itinerary n° 3 Pope Clemente XI° and Urbino’s Second Renaissance.
From the late Della Rovere period to the Nineteenth Century.
Visit of the Cathedral e Albani Museum*, Oratory of St. Joseph*,
the church of the Holy Spirit and Botanical Garden,
walking tour including the exteriors of the Sanzio Theatre and Sinagogue,
the Minor Confraternities* (upon request). (2,5 hours)

Itinerary n° 4 Urbino today: Discovery of the the University complex, local art exibits and craftsmen.
The architecture, restoration and restructuring of Giancarlo de Carlo’s interventions
in Urbino (Faculties of ‘Magistero’, ‘Economy and Trade’, ‘Law’), the ramp and ‘Data’ of
Francesco di Georgio Martini, local art exibitions* (when scheduled)
and the workshops of local craftsmen. (2,5 hours)

Itinerary n° 5 Celebrating the Della Rovere Dynasty between the XVI and XVII centuries.
The Ducal Palace of Urbania* to the Civic Museum* of Pesaro,
observing prints and terracotta ‘maiolica’ of the Renaissance.

Itinerary n° 6 The International Gothic Movement in the province of Pesaro-Urbino.
The Malatesta court* and the cathedral of Fano, the churches of Saint Mary of the Graces,
St. Augustine and Civic Museum of Pesaro.

Itinerary n° 7 Fortresses and Castles.
The castle of Gradara*, the fortresses of Francesco di Giorgio Martini in Sassocorvaro*,
S. Leo* and Mondavio*.

Itinerary n° 8 For Refined Tastes.
Gastronomic excursions to Acqualagna;
Excursions to the ecological oasis of the Furlo Gorge with visit to the
Monastery of St. Vincent at Furlo.
And/or
Visit to the ‘Quadreria Cesarini’*,
an eclectic collection of twentieth century art works in a private home-turned-museum,
together with a visit to the Baroque church of St. Philip in the town of Fossombrone.
